FRIENDSHIP AND SHARED INTERESTS

People to share your world with.

Spiritual friendship can begin with something simple: a practice, a question or a similar way of enjoying life. On Almya you can meet like-minded adults and say whether you are looking for friendship, dating or both.

A shared interest to start with, room to get acquainted

Perhaps you meditate and would like to talk about what you are learning. Perhaps you enjoy nature or are curious about consciousness and lucid dreams. A shared interest gives you a starting point for getting to know someone, even if your beliefs differ.

On Almya you choose which interests to show. You can start with just one and change them at any time. You do not need to follow a doctrine, have experience in a practice or present yourself as someone who has all the answers.

Say what kind of connection you would enjoy

If you are looking for friendship, you can say so in What you are looking for, within your profile preferences. You can also choose a relationship or both. This is optional: your choice appears on your card to help explain your intentions, but does not automatically filter other people.

Your age preferences and whom you want to meet still apply. Review those options according to the people you would like to connect with. You could add a specific introduction, such as “I would enjoy sharing walks, meditation and unhurried conversations.” You do not need to tell your whole story to get started.

From a shared interest to the first message

Explore profiles and open the ones that spark your curiosity. When both people show interest in meeting, chat opens. The same rule applies when you are looking for friendship: sending a like on its own does not let someone start a conversation.

A first message can start with something the other person chose to share: “I saw that you enjoy nature too. Do you have a favourite walk?” or “What first interested you in meditation?” These are ideas to put in your own words. Chat supports text, emojis and optional voice or video.

Friendship develops at its own pace

A shared interest does not oblige anyone to reply or mean you will be compatible. You can talk, change your mind or disconnect. Almya facilitates conversations between people; it does not organise groups, retreats or in-person events.

Other members need an account to see your profile. Share your city without giving an exact address, and use the hide, block or report controls whenever you need them. If you decide to meet, choose a public place and a plan you both feel comfortable with.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Almya without looking for a relationship?

Yes. You can say you are looking for friendship. You can also choose a relationship or both, and change it in My profile. This helps communicate your intentions; it is not an automatic compatibility filter.

Do I have to record an introduction?

No. You can create a profile with one photo and add up to six. Your written introduction, voice and video are optional. Choose at least one interest you would like to show.

Are member profiles public on Google?

No. Member profiles and photos require signing in. These public pages explain the service. Profiles in the demonstration are fictional and labelled as such.
